Danny Gawlowski is a video editor and photojournalist currently working as the Video Editor for The Seattle Times in Seattle, Washington.

As a graduate from the journalism program at Ball State University, the bulk of Danny’s work has been done while working at various newspapers across the country. Prior to The Seattle Times, Danny worked at The Bellingham Herald (Bellingham, Washington), the Dallas Morning News (Dallas, Texas), The Concord Monitor (Concord, New Hampshire), The Gazette (Colorado Springs, Colorado), The Courier and Press (Evansville, Indiana) and The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, Ohio). He has also worked on assignments for a variety of newspapers and magazines across the globe.

Danny’s photographic work has also appeared in several books. For The Other Side of Middletown, Danny produced a body of photographic and multimedia work that documented the African American community of Muncie, Indiana. His photographs illustrate several textbooks, including Introduction to Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, and Amours: Histoires des relations entre les hommes et les femmes.

Non-profit work is very important to Danny. He worked in collaboration with Josie Liming to create Visions of Walabi, a collection of images that documented life among ethnic minorities in a village in southwestern China. The images were displayed in galleries in Beijing and sold to fund various projects in the village.

Danny’s work has been recognized with awards from a variety of regional, national and international organizations, such as the National Press Photographers Association, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Hearst Journalism Awards Program and the Alexia Foundation for World Peace.
